“Lookin’ for love in all the wrong places”

When I hear people talk about life’s disappointments, relationship heartaches, or even the extent that people will go to find meaning and contentment in life, I am often reminded of the song lyric “I was lookin’ for love in all the wrong places”. I am not intending to minimize the pain and hurt of life difficulties, relationship failures or even the challenges of finding purpose in life. However, for many people, what we are looking for is right in front of us, in the name of Jesus. If you do not have a personal relationship with Him, I would encourage you to ask someone who does to tell you about that relationship and how it is transformational in one’s life. Or maybe start going to a Bible believing church, or even faithfully start reading the Bible to discover the wonders of Christ’s love. The question I would ask is- Why wouldn’t you want to have a relationship with someone who willingly died such a horrible death on the cross so that you may live? If you do not know Jesus as Lord, or if you do know what it means to follow Jesus, but you are not living a God honoring life, I pray that this Easter will be the day that you explore or recommit to what it means to put your faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

“Now after the Sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to look at the tomb. And behold, a severe earthquake had occurred, for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven and came and rolled away the stone, and sat upon it. And his appearance was like lightning, and his clothing as white as snow. The guards shook from fear of him and became like dead men. And the angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid; for I know that you are looking for Jesus who has been crucified. He is not here, for He has risen, just as He said. Come, see the place where He was lying. And go quickly and tell His disciples that He has risen from the dead; and behold, He is going ahead of you to Galilee. There you will see Him; behold, I have told you” (Matthew 28:1-7)

To Him who loves us and released us from our sins by His blood- and He made us into a kingdom, priests to His God and Father -to Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen. Behold, He is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him; and all the tribes of the earth will mourn over Him. So it is to be. Amen. “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty” Revelation 1:5b-8)
